Steve, his wife Heather, and their son Adam moved to Berea in 2009. Steve had worked in the retail industry for all of his adult life, including several years as a manager of a furniture finishing store. He has worked as a store associate at Top Drawer since 2015. In those years he developed his own relationships with the artisans and a deep appreciation for their work and preserving the traditions of American crafts. After being in business for over 20 years, previous owners, Terry and Jerilu Fields, decided to retire in early 2024. They asked Steve & Heather if they would be interested in taking it over, and it was not a difficult decision to make. After working at Berea College for several years, Heather decided it was time for a different journey, and Top Drawer Gallery suited her perfectly. In addition to her love of design and artistry, Heather brings over 25 years of administrative experience and takes care of the business side of things. Together, Steve, Heather, and their ridiculously cute dog Stanley, work to maintain relationships with their current vendors and continue discovering new artists. Their goal is to be a resource for high-quality items for local and regional customers as well as striving to be a destination for travelers. Stop by, say howdy, and check out our beautiful space.
